New Champion: Ch. Betcha-Katcha Nellie Belle

I just found out that Belle did indeed finish her UKC Championship over the GCH&H July show weekend in Rancho Cordova. Congratulations Belle, we knew you could do it! Belle will now join the rest of the California MAs in the Champions show ring so watch out for her in the future!

UKC Show Videos

Kyle and Rita took a lot of great video at some of the recent UKC shows we attended. I uploaded them onto Youtube and organized them into three different playlists. Click on each screen below to view the playlist:

Coursing Trophy

I can't believe I forgot to post this earlier but better late than never, I guess. When all the scores were tallied and totaled, Gil ended up tying with Tea the Ibizan Hound for #1 Rare Breed for the 2008-2009 Coursing Season, making him eligible to have his name inscribed on the Rare Breed Perpetual Trophy for OFC. Since she has held the trophy for the past few consecutive years, Kathy Kelly was generous enough to allow me to take the trophy home for a year. So, it has been sitting on a shelf in the living room, visible to all that enter our home, and since we may not be taking it home again next year I wanted to document it's presence before it leaves. Days of Dogs and Roses

Kyle Yates took a bunch of wonderful pictures last year at our little 4th of July get-together. Although these pictures are over a year old, they are so nice that I wanted to post them here. There's too many to post individually so I made a little slide show. Click on the link at the bottom to see all the photos. Apparently they only allow a limited number to be shown on blogger:

News From Abroad: Betcha-Katcha Nookie Wins Big!

The FCI Lure Coursing Championships were just held in Marienbad (Czech Republic) and MAs from all over Europe were in attendance including two of Gil's sisters, A.U. Fagyöngy and A.U. Fenyves, and one of Willow and Belle's littermates, Betcha-Katcha Nookie.

There were more than a dozen dogs of each sex entered and after days of hard, competitive running BK Nookie came out victorious as the Female FCI European Lure Coursing Champion of 2009!!! Congratulations to her owner, Waltraud Sporer, and her breeder Friederike Honstetter.

Both of Gil's littermates also finished in the top 6 for females with Fagyöngy taking a 4th place and Fenyves 6th place. Congratulations to their owners and breeder as well. Overall it sounds like it was a great event with great dogs and I only wish I could have been there to see it.
